By providing a comprehensive snapshot of a historic preservation site, 3D laser scanning improves workflow efficiencies and accuracy, from the collection of data at the site to post-processing and presentations. NCG has used laser scanning on the Schoharie Aqueduct, Cape San Blas Lighthouse, Ellis Island Ferry, Mississippi IV River Boat, Florida State Museum Mastodon Skelton, Former Florida Governor’s Mansion Call/Collins House and a number of other sites that required highly accurate documentation.
NCG can also provide a full-color, walk-through visualization which enables clients to immerse themselves in the scene in a much more compelling way than simple photographs or notes. Generating models of the site using the scan data creates a high-resolution documentation of indoor and outdoor scenes that can be revisited at a later date for additional information.
